Secondary Research Post

Hi guys👋! Welcome again to my third post. Today I'll be talking about an intersting topic.

Have you ever heard about  digital foortprint in social media? leave a comment if you have an idea!💬

What is Digital footprint?

A digital footprint is basically all the info we leave behind when we’re online such as when we browse, share stuff or post on social media (Solove, 2007). It’s not just what we put out there but also things like who we interact with and other bits of data about what we do online. All this adds up to a kind of digital trail that others can see and sometimes use so it’s pretty important to be aware of it if you want to keep your privacy and reputation intact

well, let's talk about the main causes of digital footprints👀.

The first cause is social media platforms such as Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook ... and so one. When someone post a picture, everyone on the platform in their phone and it'll be for the whole life in their phone which can impact their security and privacy.

Next, the next thing I'm gonna talk about in social media is when someone share a harmfull content in social media such as terrorist, criminals and darkweb videos. The problem is it will affect their future oppurtunities such as getting into a university, applying for a job or even for a visa and then they will give straight aways a refue.(ReputationX, n.d.)

Well. For my experience, I learned that I need to keep my privacy for myself including photos, adventure or anything related to me🔏. Additionally, I learned that every short step you take online on social media can lead to a lot of problems especially for my future career. Also, as you know in today's world there is a lot of teenagers spend most of their time scrolling on social media and they don't know anything about digital footprints.

What I hope to achieve from this is that everyone can understand the risks of their digital footprint so they can take steps to avoid any negative impact on their future career and personal life.

By being aware of what they share online and how their actions can be tracked people can make smarter choices and protect their privacy.

Ultimately, I want everyone to realise that the things we do on social media don’t just disappear they can follow us for years, so it’s important to think before we post.
